My Pyramid Dietary Guidelines

In an effort to eat more nutritiously balanced meals, I have become increasingly more interested in the MyPyramid Plan.

I inquired with a colleague of mine (she is a nutritionist) to see if she would recommend a good source of information to help me choose the proper foods in the correct portions that were right for me and she recommended that I start with MyPyramid.

Notice that I said right for me. It is important to understand that when it comes to diet, exercise, and nutrition, one size doesn't fit all. The great thing about this plan is that it can help you to choose the proper foods in the correct portions based on your age, sex, and activity level.

You could use the advice Inside MyPyramid to help you:
  • Make smart choices from every food group,
  • Find your balance between food and physical activity, and
  • Get the most nutrition out of your calories.

The MyPyramid Plan was developed by the Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, which is an organization of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and it can be found at http://www.mypyramid.gov/.
